food
We love falafel on London Cheap Eats (see here), and Jersualem Falafel in Soho's iconic Berwick Street Market serves up some of the best falafel wraps in town.
For a fiver you get a big ol' wrap with four pieces of falafel and all the trimmings.
Berwick Street Market is a London Cheap Eats treasure trove with the likes of Savage Salads, Jimmy's Old School Rolls, and Freebird Burritos lining up on a daily basis.
Tabun Kitchen - Jerusalem Street Food in Soho
food
Tabun Kitchen has arrived, here in Soho, serving up Jerusalem street food to knock your hummus lovin socks off.
Tabun Kitchen takes its name from the ‘Tabun’ oven – a centrepiece of Palestinian cooking since pre-Biblical times.
Hanan Kattan, the founder of Tabun Kitchen, explains that what they serve up in the restaurant is authentic Jerusalem street food, which is not something I’ve come across before in London.
She has now lived in London for three decades, and it’s been her long time wish to bring together her love of good food and middle-eastern culture… Ta da!
Israel is now officially calling me, but in the meantime, Tabun Kitchen will be my destination whenever I feel the need for Palestinian food… and I’ll just have to imagine the weather ;) Tabun Kitchen 77 Berwick St Soho, London W1F 8TH This post was shot on my LEICA D-LUX – dinky but dynamic ;) Red & I were guests of Tabun Kitchen and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Restaurant Review: Tabun Kitchen | The Soulmates Blog
food ambience
Having never visited any Middle Eastern country yet and always loving to try new kinds of cuisines, I couldn’t say no to the opportunity of checking out Tabun Kitchen, the newest Jerusalem Street Food spot in the heart of Soho.
Yet we tried our best to ignore the distracting buzz around us and loosened up with our cocktails: my husband ordered the Tabun Mohito (beefeater gin, tonic water, fresh mint leaves, lemon, rosewater), which he admittedly found on the weak side, booze-wise, whilst I – a self-confessed Aperol Spritz lover – had a couple of tasty and refreshing Orange Sunsets (Vodka, Aperol, agave syrup, freshly squeezed orange juice).
The menu is structured around five categories: mezze plates (aka food to share tapas-style), traditional plates, grills to share, manaeesh Palestinian pizza and tabun sides.
We decided to focus on the mezze in order to try a variety of things but since my husband is vegetarian I also ordered one of the traditional plates to get a taste of a meat-based dish – the Musakhan whole chicken.
As a dining experience, Tabun Kitchen is a rather intriguing one and probably, in a way, the bustling environment is somehow fitting for a venue that serves street food as it winds up transporting you into that kind of atmosphere.

Tabun Kitchen | Restaurants in Soho, London
food
While Middle Eastern food is more than having a moment, there are few specifically Palestinian spots in London.
Here is Soho’s Tabun Kitchen, owned by film producer Hanan Kattan, taking its name from a biblical clay oven and dishing up spiritually nourishing Palestinian home cooking.
Focus is drawn to a counter filled with takeaway wraps, behind which chefs in whites pull ‘manaeesh’ (aka, Palestinian pizzas) from a modern steel version of the tabun, complete with flickering embers.
Sweet staff helped, though.
Tabun Kitchen is a welcome spot for a feel-good takeaway or quick pit-stop.
